Residential Services - Mission/Aims

A New Vision

Although we are providing an excellent residential service, it is becoming clear that we need to begin planning a service that will cater for the needs of all our service users as they become older. Some of our residents find our accommodation difficult to manage. With this in mind we are now looking for a suitable property or piece of land that we could either adapt or rebuild.

We are already in conversation with Kingston borough who are very supportive of our vision as there are currently no residential services for older people with learning disabilities in the borough. This is going to be a big project and we will be launching an appeal in the coming year.

Maple Lodge

Maple Lodge is a registered home providing a homely and safe environment for 14 people with learning disabilities. Residents are encouraged to develop their potential to the full and are involved in all aspects of the home by choosing menus, cooking and carrying out chores in the house and garden.

They are encouraged to participate fully in local community activities and have regular outings and holidays. The residents also have their own mini-bus for everyday transport needs.

Oak House and Cherry House

These are smaller homes with three residents living in each. These homes offer greater independence and choice, and are staffed appropriately to meet the needs and requirements of the residents. Holly House provides 3 residents with greater independence and has minimal staff input.

The home is registered for three people situated on the border of Surbiton and Tolworth. The home is staffed 24hrs a day and is close to local shops, restaurants and pubs. Cherry House is a bus ride away from Kingston town Centre. The home offers care and support for people with learning disabilities.
